Alemán

Born in Cabo San Lucas in 1990, Mexican rapper Eric Raúl Alemán Ramírez rose to prominence as a member of Doble Rima, also featuring the talents of MC King and DJ Phat. The trio attracted considerable attention in the local rap scene with their first two albums, Click Clack Punto Exacto (2009) and Clasick Rap (2010). In 2014 Alemán released his first solo endeavor, albeit with DJ Phat in the production seat, the acclaimed Pase de Abordar. By this time, Alemán was already being hailed as one of the best Mexican MCs of all time, a reputation further solidified with Rolemos Otro (2016). Over the following decade, Alemán's projects grew more ambitious -- the double album Eclipse, the Humo en La Trama trilogy -- as he intently pursued an international audience with collaboration-heavy offerings such as 2021's Huracan, which boasted a guest list including Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Rels B, Santa Fe Klan, and Nicki Nicole. Later albums such as De Vuelta a Las Andadas (2025) acknowledged the ascendancy of the new wave of Mexican regional and Mexican reggaeton artists by featuring collaborations with the likes of El Bogueto and Netón Vega.
