Snail Mail

Lindsey Erin Jordan was born on 16 June 1999 in Ellicott City, Maryland, and emerged as the guitarist, singer and songwriter behind the US indie‑rock solo project Snail Mail. She began playing guitar at five, joined her church band and school jazz ensemble, and started writing songs in seventh grade, performing locally by age 15. Her first self‑recorded EP, Stick, appeared in 2015, followed by the Habit EP in 2016 on Sister Polygon Records; the track "Thinning" received a “Best New Track” designation from Pitchfork. In 2017 she signed with Matador Records and released the live recording Snail Mail on Audiotree Live, then launched her debut studio album Lush on 8 June 2018, which earned widespread critical acclaim. A 2019 tour across New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United States supported the release of the single "Pristine" and a reissue of Habit. Her second studio album, Valentine, was issued on 5 November 2021 and appeared on numerous year‑end lists; the title track and "Ben Franklin" were highlighted singles. After a vocal‑cord surgery in late 2021, she returned with a 2023 EP Valentine (Demos) and a 2024 acting role in I Saw the TV Glow, contributing the cover of "Tonight, Tonight" to the soundtrack. Her third album, Ricochet, was released on 27 March 2026.
