City Slang

City Slang Records is home to a diverse roster of artists from around the world. The label does not stick to a certain “style” of music, and prefer to focus on signing artists who are “incredible people, who are interesting and stand out from the crowd. Who are creative and special”. Founded in 1990 as a European outpost for American indie rock. Today, the imprint represents a diverse roster of distinctive and passionate artists from around the world. Since 1990, City Slang has been home to Yo La Tengo, Hole, Lambchop, Caribou, Noga Erez, José González, Boy Harsher and many more. It was named after the song City Slang by Sonic's Rendezvous Band.
