Kenny Muney

South Memphis native Kenny Muney is a slick and nimble trap rapper whose bars are urgent no matter the tempo of his tracks. He made a name for himself during the latter half of the 2010s with singles and projects on his Whole Lotta Errthang label. Before the end of the decade, he leveled up with Young Dolph by joining the roster of the fellow Memphian's Paper Route Empire, debuting on the label with Muney Talk (2019), led by the drug-slinging narrative "Narcos." Since then, he has issued the projects Time Is Muney (2022), Blue Muney (2023), The Blue Seasons (2024), and Kenjamin Franklin (2025), along with standalone tracks like "Lowkey."Muney was born and raised in Memphis. At the age of 15, he survived a shooting that changed his perspective and prompted him to pursue music. With a work ethic inspired by his mother, he broke through in 2016 with "YTN Freestyle," an assured track with a video that quickly drew millions of views. Emboldened, Muney kept moving with the Before the Bomb EP, the full-lengths Wake Up and Mud 2 Muney 2, and supplemental stray tracks over the next few years. Young Dolph provided early mentorship, and in 2019, he welcomed Muney to Paper Route Empire. Muney Talk marked the emergent rapper's PRE debut in 2019. Dolph himself was featured on the lean and heady "AF," while labelmate Key Glock assisted on the title track. "Lowkey" highlighted a steady flow of intermediary singles and collaborations that preceded Time Is Muney. The 2022 release was notable for likewise hard-hitting tracks such as "No Days Off," "Change Up," and the Big Moochie Grape collaboration "Choosin," as well as "Role Model," a tribute to Young Dolph, who had been murdered the previous November. Blue Muney, previewed by "In a Rush" -- one of Muney's leanest and most cold-blooded recordings -- followed in 2023. During the next two years, Muney maintained his high rate of output with The Blue Seasons and Kenjamin Franklin. The latter project featured a posthumous Dolph appearance on the rallying "Tune Up."
