Confidence Man go three-for-three with their third set, 3AM (La La La). Named after the time of day when they seemed to have the most songwriting inspiration, it's an appropriate title for the dark, club-friendly anthems that pack the album from back to front. It's a hedonistic, throbbing, non-stop mix fit for youthful exuberance (and especially potent for those listeners who remember '90s club culture because they were actually there). The pulsing, hands-up raver "SO WHAT" casts Janet Planet as a spotlight rave ringleader, while Sugar Bones hypnotizes on the horny highlight "SICKO," seducing listeners with a guarantee that "everybody wants to get f*cked up." British reggae singer and DJ Sweetie Irie drops by for the house-kissed "REAL MOVE TOUCH," a time machine back to 1991, and Planet playfully raps on the skittering, drug-fueled "BREAKBEAT." Fun, naughty, and a little nasty, 3AM stretches the typical party-friendly novelty sound that Confidence Man perfected on their first two albums, showcasing artistic growth with a laser-focused intent to keep your body moving late into the night, when it feels like anything can (and will) happen.
